I finally clerked a patient with depression!!

I've just started doing my psychiatry rotation recently.. well, when I say recently, it means about a month already.. haha.. I've been trying to talk to patients with depression, just because I need a depressed patient for my exams.

I was quite happy that the 1st patient I talked to has depression with suicidal ideation. She was admitted because she took an overdose, trying to end it all. But, sadly, she only talked to me for 5 minutes and she REJECTED me.. *sob*.. (it usually takes a minimum of 40mins to clerk)

She was my 1st patient and I didn't expect it to go wrong.. I mean at least let me talk to her longer.. I don't know if I've offended her or something, she just didn't want to tell me her stories.. haiz.. and because of that, I actually got scared of clerking psycho patients.. I did not go into wards for several days, I planned my days with home visits and whatever I can think of, just NOT clerking..

Then I realized that I really need to clerk.. again, I went to another ward, and they ask me to speak to this patient.. and again.. with depression.. as expected.. it didn't last for more than 15mins.. That was my 2nd clerking!!!!!!!! How can that be possible????? During the 15mins, he was talking to me with his eyes shut.. because he said that he is toooooo tired.. and he mumbles.. and can't really get the whole picture of his story.. sad sad again..

Finally.. today.. I spoke to a depressed patient for about 1 hour!!!!!!!! and i think i got most of his story!!! damn satisfying!!! weeee!!!!!!!!!!!
